After 19 seasons in the NBA Andre Iguodala announces his retirement.

Iguodala spent his first eight seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers where he was among the NBA high-flyers and making highlight reel plays on both ends of the floor seemingly on a nightly basis. He also had his best all-around seasons there too. With a career year in 2006-2007 in which he averaged 18.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 2 steals per game.

In 2012 he was part of a four team trade that sent him to the Denver Nuggets where he spent one season. Iguodala was then part of a three team trade in 2013 which sent him to the Golden State Warriors, he spent one season starting all 63 games he played in and then became a vital piece off the bench even though he was only 31. After signing a two-year contract extension, he got traded in 2019 to the Memphis Grizzlies a franchise he did not play for. So in February of 2020 he got traded to the Miami Heat.

While many thought he would retire after his time with the Heat, he instead signed back with the Warriors. Yet he played in 39 games the past two seasons and averaged 18.4 minutes per game.

Overall for his career, Iguodala averaged 11.3 points per game, 4.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1,4 steals, and shot 46.3 percent from the field, 33 percent from three, and 70.9 percent from the free throw line.

He scored a career-high 34 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers on January 24, 2007, grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds against the New York Knicks on March 15, 2010, dished out a career-high 16 assists on February 4, 2011 which was also against the Knicks. There were also nine triple-doubles recorded.

Accolades include four championships, 2015 Finals MVP, an All-Star game appearance, Slam Dunk champion, First Team All-Rookie, a First Team All-Defensive selection, and a Second Team All-Defensive selection.

The Finals MVP Iguodala received was for his phenomenal defense on LeBron James.

Here is also a look at the responses to his retirement as well including one from Warriors head coach Steve Kerr.
